We were established in 2023 by a group of professionals with over 100 years of experience of helping

Having established a patient support service in a Northwest Major Trauma Centre, they were then asked to consider expanding the service to other hospitals in the wider area.

As a result, the Major Trauma Patient Support service was born, with a view to offering support to victims of Major trauma and their families throughout the North of England.

Ann Pimm is the proud owner and Clinical Director of Summerseat Physiotherapy, one of the leading specialist complex injury clinics in the North West. Established in 2014, Ann and her team of specialist physiotherapists treat adults and children with neurological conditions.

Having built up extensive knowledge of the physiotherapy needs of people with brain and complex injury, Ann sees her job as facilitating the body to relearn or learn for the first time how to be the most functional it can be.  She says, “Seeing someone reach or surpass their goals is fabulous - it is the most rewarding work, and I am still passionate about it after doing it for 35 years!”

Over the years Ann has built up a strong network, bringing together other service providers in Neurological Rehabilitation both nationally and locally.  She has been honoured to speak at conferences internationally but loves nothing more than standing in front of a class of trainee physiotherapists, helping to inspire future generations.

A driving force for good, Ann also organises Bury’s annual Accessible Festival and is a founding committee member for Headway charity in Bury.
